The Rise of JJ Redick: From NBA Star to Head Coach

Early Life and Career

Jonathan Clay "JJ" Redick (born June 24, 1984) embarked on his basketball journey at Duke University, where he earned All-American honors and led the team to the NCAA Final Four in 2004.

NBA Career

Redick was selected 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2006 NBA Draft. Known for his impeccable shooting, he played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers, establishing himself as one of the most prolific three-point shooters in NBA history.

Coaching Career

Upon retiring from playing in 2021, Redick transitioned into coaching. He joined the Brooklyn Nets organization as an assistant coach in 2022 and quickly made an impact with his strategic insights and player development expertise.

In 2023, the Nets parted ways with head coach Steve Nash, and Redick was appointed interim head coach. He guided the team to a respectable 9-7 record and impressed management with his leadership and basketball acumen.
