What Went Disastrously Wrong In Laxman Narasimhans 17 Months As Ceo Of Starbucks

Starbucks Appoints Former Lysol Executive as New CEO

Starbucks Makes Bold Leadership Move

Narasimhan Appointed To Lead Coffee Giant

Starbucks has finally announced the appointment of Laxman Narasimhan as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 2023. Narasimhan, formerly the CEO of Lysol manufacturer Reckitt, will take over from interim CEO Rachel Ruggeri, who has been at the helm since Howard Schultz stepped down in March.

"We were looking for a leader with deep consumer expertise, a passion for innovation, and a track record of success," said Schultz in an interview with The New York Times. "Laxman has all of these qualities, and we believe he is the ideal person to lead Starbucks into the future."

Narasimhan, who joined Reckitt in 2019, is credited with revitalizing the company by focusing on innovation and digital transformation. He has previously held leadership positions at PepsiCo and McKinsey & Company.

In a letter to employees, Narasimhan expressed his excitement to join Starbucks and his focus on long-term sustainable growth. "I believe we have a tremendous opportunity to build on the company's rich heritage and create a future where Starbucks continues to inspire and connect communities around the world," he wrote.
